Z Puppets Rosenschnoz: Free Sneak Preview of Scenes from Cellula

“Whether you are a rock star or a platypus, no matter the color of your skin, inside me, inside you, right now there’s a cell waiting to begin.”

Sample a mesmerizing mix of science and art with this sneak preview of Cellula, a new work in progress by local puppetry artists Z Puppets Rosenschnoz in collaboration with acclaimed improvisational vocalists Mankwe Ndosi and Libby Turner, directed by Kurt Hunter. Like a bedtime story as told by biologists Cellula uses glow in the dark puppetry to illuminate the true marvels of cell science inside us all. Come look under the lens of the microscope to get a new view of cell division. We will be testing out an interactive installation exploring the connections between science and art and presenting a 15-minute scene from the show. The presentation will be followed by a brief, optional response session.

Space is limited to 25 people. Advanced reservation required. Recommended for ages 6+.

This event is funded by a grant from the MN State Arts Board and the Puppeteers of America, in preparation for the January 2017 premiere of Cellula at In the Heart of the Beast Puppet & Mask Theatre.
